Logo brief

Tell us about the logo you have in mind.

A new logo, or a fresh take on the one you have. Answer what you can in your own words. You don’t need to know anything about design, and “not sure” is a fine answer.

How this works

Questions marked Key matter most. If you’re short on time, press “Key questions only” and answer those first.

Your answers are saved in this browser as you type. When you’re done, press “Save brief” to download a file, then email it to sales@denaliws.com. You can open that file here again later to carry on.

1You and your business

A sentence or two, the way you’d say it to someone you just met.

Some logos draw on the place: mountains, rivers, a landmark.

The address, or “not yet”.

2The words in the logo

Spelling, capitals and any “&” or “Co.” just as you want them.

For example “Healing Collective” or “Est. 2009”. Leave blank if not.

Initials or a nickname can make a good small version.

3Your logo today

Where are we starting from? Key

Skip if you don’t have one.

Too busy, too cartoony, hard to print, doesn’t feel like you any more.

A symbol, a color, the shape, the font.

4The feel

This is where we get a picture of you. There are no wrong answers.

For example: warm, grounded, local.

Which of these sound like you?

An animal, a place, an object, a letter. Or say you’d like us to suggest ideas.

Symbols every business like yours uses, colors, styles you dislike.

Names or links, and what you like about them. Send pictures if you have them.

So yours doesn’t look like theirs.

5Style and color

What kind of logo are you picturing? Key
Will it include a person, animal or character?

Names are fine. Say if you already have brand colors.

6Where it will be used

This matters more than anything else. A logo that has to be stitched on a hat needs to be much simpler than one that only lives on a website.

Where will your logo appear? Key

If they’ve asked for particular files or a number of colors, tell us.

7Timing and decisions

And why, if there’s a date: an opening, a print order, an event.

A partner, a board, the team. It helps to know who sees the concepts.
